What do Americans think? Here's the latest stats, PROOF most Americans are Conservative

I am listing here some poll results of how Americans think on various issues facing us today. While these are all common polling results released by many media outlets, I am releasing this list as it was compiled in "Real Change" by Newt Gingrich.

This list is proof that most Americans are not moderate or centrists or Independent but lean to the right of center. Most Americans tend to lean Conservative.

As I come up with new statistics, I will publish them and provide a link neat the top of my blog where they will be available for anyone to reference.

  1. 94% want a moment of silence for students to pray to start the school day, if they want to pray.
  2. 87% support making English the official language of the U.S.
  3. 93% believe al Qaeda poses a serious threat to the U.S.
  4. 79% say it is not possible to negotiate with a terrorist
  5. 80% say the social security system is broken
  6. 96% of Americans believe it is important for Congress and the president to address social security and fix it.
  7. 71% believe the U.S. government should create the option of a single income tax rate of 17% for everyone, with standard exemptions for each adult, married couple, and child dependent.
  8. 73% believe the U.S. should drill for oil off our coastlines to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
  9. 65% believe the U.S. should build nuclear power plants to cut down on carbon emissions and reduce our dependency on foreign oil.
  10. 83% believe the U.S. should advocate laws that criminalize terrorism or advocating violence against Americans.
  11. 85% believe Iran poses a serious threat
  12. 79% support the death penalty for someone caught and convicted of carrying out a terrorist attack in the U.S.
  13. 65% favor abolishing the death tax
  14. 48% favor abolishing the capital gains tax
  15. 70% favor a tax incentive for companies headquartered in the U.S.
  16. 74% favor a single income tax rate for corporations.
  17. 68% see a direct link to making American corporations more competitive in the U.S. so they will not move overseas.
  18. 54% believe the wealthiest should pay the same proportion of their income as everyone else.
  19. 89% believe religion and morality are important to them and their families
  20. 79% believe religion and morality are important to the country.
  21. 87% approve of the reference to "the Creator" in the Declaration of Independence.
  22. 88% approve of the reference to "one nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.
  23. 78% approve of the Ten Commandments appearing in courthouses across America
  24. 81% appose removing crosses and other such monuments from public parks and other public property.
  25. 90% approve of a Christmas tree or menorah being placed on public property during the holiday season.
  26. 84% agree references to God in the Pledge of Allegiance and Declaration of Independence are important because they make clear that certain rights can't be taken away by government.
  27. 93% believe that it is still important to acknowledge that our rights come from our Creator today.
  28. 85% believe it is very important for a group or organization in this country to pursue the goal of helping defend America and its allies
  29. 75% believe it is very important for a group or organization in the country to pursue the goal of defeating America's enemies.

Now one has to consider which political party is in touch with the majority of Americans, and which one is out of touch.

Excellent post. I understand that America is about giving voice to all Americans and protecting their rights, but what is so wrong with having a country that follows what most its citizens want and believe? I guess that's too democratic for the democrats.
