Gore still blames bad weather on global warming

While I proved in a post a while ago that global warming does not cause bad weather, Al Gore refuses to give up the mantra that global warming is the cause of all inclement weather. In simple terms, inclement means harsh or stormy.

Of course, whatever means is necessary to advance the global warming agenda the global warming crowd will do. And why not, when the global warming is a billion dollar a year industry.

During a talk on May 5 on NPR by "Fresh Air" host Terry Cross, he said: "And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated,” Gore said. “And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.”

As we noted on Freadom Nation on the April 25 post, "The National Hurricane Center’s own website notes that the average number of yearly hurricanes per decade has neither increased nor decreased since 1900. Tropicalweather.net makes a similar claim. Likewise, the greatest spike in this average came in the 1940s during a period of global cooling, and the greatest decrease in the 1990s during a period of global warming."

This pretty much disproves Gores theory that warmer water temperatures have lead to an increase in cyclones and hurricanes and the intensity of them.

I even wrote a post recently (Global temperatures drop significantly) about a recent run of global cooling. But that doesn't seem to matter to the global warming crowd.

I will not be one to challenge the intelligence of a man like Gore, considering I honestly think he is very intelligent. However, it is comments like this that force thinkers like you and me to think twice.

Freadom, I am so with you on this. I can't get enough of the global warming hoopla...to me even if it is real which I don't know, but I don't care because God is in charge, I would still make fun of Al for his cashing in on global warming and it is soooo cold! haha :)N

Ya, this is the kind of stunt that ruins his credibility on both sides. This is the same thing as Pat Robertson and Company blaiming the weather on gays. It just doesn't add up.

agreed.

I think Al Gore has shifted his focus from global warming to climate change. I also think that regardless of the messenger, it's good for all of us to think about how we impact the environment. A lot of people on the right let their dislike for Al Gore prevent them from at least acknowledging that there is a valid issue they (everyone) should discuss.

Anthony: I agree with you. I think some people are so stubborn, so eager to attack, that they lose the message.

Still, I think Al Gore suffers the same fate. He refuses to listen to to his poitical opponents. I think he is so convinced that man is causing global warming that even if the weather cools he blames it on global warming.

Still, even if he has changed his tune, I think people (including conservatives) would respect him all the more if he would come right out and say, "Hey, I was wrong about global warming destroying the earth, and I have now shifted to climate change. And this is why I change my mind...."
