Republicans must not cave on taxes

There are a lot of republicans saying that we ought to just let Obama have his tax increases, and when people realize that tax hikes don't create jobs, and the economy doesn't get better, then republicans can come back and say, "I told you so."

Ran Paul actually is one to say this  He said we should just let Obama have his tax hikes and he can own them too.  For the longest time I agreed with him.  The people of this country voted that they support what Obama is doing, mainly because they want more stuff.

However, today I found a good quote that says: "Um, are you dumb republicans?  The quote goes like this:  "What makes us think that we can make Obama own the fiscal cliff when we can't even make him own his first four years?"

Good point.  This is a perfect example of why people who lose elections must not back down on principle. Raising taxes does not stimulate an economy.  And republicans who back away from facts like this are equally responsible for the fiscal cliff as any democrat.
