We need a story teller to save the republican party

What the republicans need is someone who is good at spinning stories.  Bill Clinton was a good spinner. Barack Obama is a good spinner.  Bush, Bush W., Dole, McCain, and Romney were all sour story tellers.  They couldn't convince the people that they were right.

Surely you might say Bush W. was elected twice, but that was more because he ran as a conservative than because he could spin stories.  If he could spin stories, he would have been able to convince the world Iraq was a threat without resorting to WOMD, which, to me, was not the best reason for going into Iraq.  We went into Iraq mainly because Saddam was anit-democracy, anti-American, anti-Jew, and he was a nut case who couldn't be trusted if he did somehow gain access to dirty weapons.

What we need is someone like Newt Gingrich, who can spin a story better than anyone.  Some say Rush Limbaugh should run for president, because he can spin a tale like no one else.  But Rush will never make a good candidate because he spins stories almost too well.  He tells too much of the truth, which is a great thing, and is why he is so popular. But people can't handle the truth; the truth hurts; the truth makes you feel worse before it makes you feel better. So Rush is too good at telling the truth, so he'd never be elected.  Plus we need him in the booth to help us articulate what we already know.  We need him to entertain us.

Gingrich probably tells too much of the truth too.  So we need a story teller to run for President.  We do not need someone who is a liberal getting elected because he caters to groups of people. We need someone who wins because he sells the American dream to every American.
